Our final Swanndri dig has shown some amazing results. The natural fibres from the fabric have completely broken down, and now we can see worms actively working through what's left, helping with the final stages of decomposition.
This process shows how important natural fibres are in creating a circular future for our clothing industry. Unlike synthetic materials that hang around for years, natural fibres break down and return to the earth, reducing waste and pollution.
Thanks to Gus and Tara at The Wandle, and to the team at New Zealand Merino for their help with this project.
