Text wrapping - word inserts enter

I try to have a paragraph starting at p.1, a table at the top of p.2, and the
paragraph continuing below the table. Two problems arise:
a) Word inserts a enter at the end of p.1, which causes problems in text
alignment (seems aligned left, while it should be justified)

I'm just checking: am I wrong to assume that yes, even though you use the
same font, same border style, same everything in a table, that it can
suddenly happen that the space before in cells can be a bit wider that the
space in all cells above?
