Sharepoint 2007 installation issue (Keeps automatically installing

Has anybody run into this issue?
I have a code from the MAPS software that works for either standard or
enterprise, but we are given 10 CALs for standard only. I called up

I have searched the web and found some articles but integrating MSSQL 2008
and Sharepoint 2007 is not robust, in fact it appears flaky at best. So I
