Backing Up

This seems so ridiculous but how do I back up with out backing up my backup?
I have an external hard drive - "F." When I run the back up utility and
select - back up entire system, it factors in F into the back up and it backs
up everything. I just want to back up the C drive. I would like to run the

Removing update folders

Hopefully a simple answer to this..
I am trying to clear some disc space and I have noticed that all of
the windows updates have their own folder of 'stuff'. Whilst I
obviously want to keep the updates active, can I delete what I
suspect are download folders (eg KB123456) or do I need these as
well?

I have an e-Machines T-1120 bought new in 2002. Over the last month,
it will function normally then after 30-45 minutes goes to a blue
screen that says "hardware malfunction". I presume that the hard drive

shortcuts to pictures will not "print"

Windows xp sp3
make a shortcut to a picture; "left click" and it opens the picture
with irfanview.
"right click" pull down 'preview' and the picture opens with
"Windows Picture and Fax Viewer".
"right click" pull down 'print' and the print window opens
with MS "Photo Printing Wizard" but shows NOTHING ...

Filmstrip view

I have some windows that allow the filmstrip view and others that do not. I
have researched this and what I found was:
1. Select "View" - "Customize This Folder".
2. The folder properties multi-tabbed dialog box will appear. Underneath
"Use this folder type as a template" choose "Pictures" or "Photo Album" ...

"The files for the recovery diskette could not be created. The
