hello,
this update tried to install when i logged off of my computer. apparently it
failed.
now, some other software that relies on the .net framework will not work.

I have a PC with XP Home SP3 (SP3 installed yesterday) it has been working
well but
today, when I double click, or right click/open on a shortcut or select an
item in the
start menu nothing happens except that the mouse arrow turns to a working
hourglass and
the program does not open.

My Windows media player gave me this error message.
Windows Media Player cannot play the file. The Player might not support the
file type or might not support the codec that was used to compress the file.
What am I doing wrong?

Safe Mode Issue

Purchased a Dell Vostro Windows XP3 desktop a few months ago.
About a month or so ago, I wanted to boot up in safe mode, but couldn't
always get there.
At least 50% of the time I can't get the safe mode screen to pop up
correctly. Instead of the normal safe mode screen, all that shows is Windows
Vista on ...
