You’d think naming a deal on
Meh would be easy. One deal, right? Just call it what it is.
But it’s surprisingly tricky to get just the right name down.
Take today’s quick-dry towels, for instance. (And you all did, with over 1,500 2-packs sold so far.) Over on Amazon they’re called:
Wise Owl Outfitters Camping Towel - Camping Accessories, Quick Dry Microfiber Towel for Travel, Hiking, Yoga, Workout, and Backpacking
Ugh. Well…we aren’t Amazon. And I hate long titles. The key though, is knowing what you can cut and what you have to keep. Up until the last minute, we had today’s quick-dry towels as “camping” towels. Which they are. But not everyone goes camping, and while that’s what these are marketed for, there’s plenty of other uses.
So we cut ‘camping’ out. Maybe we lost some camping enthusiasts but I’m betting not. Every day we debate this. Did we need “Wise Owl Outfitters” today? The debate lives on.
In general, we aim for [quantity] [brand] [noun] [one feature and/or accessory]. My dream is to have a one-word deal, so when you us selling “Knife”, you’ll know I’m happy. Meanwhile,
grab some quick-dry towels so you can travel, hiking, yoga, workout, and backpacking.
