Cavalex are producing a newly tooled range of Class 60 diesel locomotives in OO gauge! This comprehensive new range covers the full history of 'BR's final locomotive' in all manner of colour schemes, with some exclusive to us here at Rails!
We are delighted to announce that the first models have now arrived in stock - our exclusive DB Cargo UK 'Steel on Steel' variation!
You can also now order deluxe weathered versions of Cavalex's forthcoming range of OO gauge Class 60s, replicating these heavy freight legends in accurate filthy conditions! These custom weathered examples are only available at Rails and will be released shortly after the main range arrives in early 2025. These are to be produced in limited quantities so pre-ordering is highly recommended.

The Heljan Co-Bo is back! This iconic model, originally released in 2011, was produced for Hattons Model Railways, and is now available exclusively at Rails of Sheffield. For the first time these models are now available with digital sound pre-fitted.
The full range includes re-runs of the most popular models as well as some new variations not covered in the range previously in BR green and BR blue. Aside from the new inclusion of DCC Sound provision, these models will also feature enhanced livery application over previous releases.
We are pleased to reveal a full suite of decorated samples for the entire range which you can now see here! All five iterations are currently due to arrive in stock during Autumn 2025.

Feast your eyes on the final production samples of our EXCLUSIVE range of OO Gauge Class 88 bi-mode locomotives from Dapol!
Four variations of this modern era dual-mode locomotive are to be produced in a selection of Direct Rail Services guises - replicating the standard 'compass' livery as well as the one-off 'Refrigerated Rail...' wrap scheme used on 88010 'Aurora'.
Amongst the usual high specification features you would expect from a new locomotive - these will feature various advanced digital, sound and lighting options as well as DCC servo operable pantograph.
The locomotives have now passed their testing phase and will be completed at the factory soon. We expect these to arrive between Q1 and Q2 2025.

An exciting month of new announcements continues with news from Oxford Rail and Oxford Diecast, who have now revealed their development plans for 2025!
This includes plenty of new diecast road vehicles as well as some newly tooled OO Gauge items for their Rail range. |

To commemorate the 80th Anniversary of VE Day in 2025 , Dapol have announced a run of new wagons in OO, N & O Gauge to observe this important day.
With your help, Dapol raised £1,910 for the Royal British Legion back in November with their last run of wagons and aim to take it even further with this new batch! For every single wagon sold, Dapol will make a donation to the British Legion - so place your pre-orders now.
Decorated samples and artworks have been prepared and are currently under review. Dapol's factory have these models scheduled to be in shops at the end of April and with modelers in time for the 80th anniversary of VE Day.
To commence production, Dapol have now instated an order book deadline for Friday 14th February 2025. These wagons have proven to be enormously popular so far, so we highly recommend that you place a pre-order to avoid missing out.

Dapol have announced the return of their popular KTA & KQA 'Pocket' container flat wagons in OO Gauge!
Absent from the range for a little while, these flat wagons are set to return for Q1 2026, with four new variations available to preorder now in a mixture of Tiphook Rail and Touax liveries. The specification will remain the same as the previous models with plenty of detailing, accurately applied liveries and NEM couplings.
Please note that these do not come supplied with containers - but they are available to purchase separately.
