Some of you may already be aware that earlier this year, I experienced a blood clot that began as Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT) and progressed to a Pulmonary Embolism. Blood clots are often referred to as silent killers, and individuals who suffer from such events have a 1 in 4 chance of survival. In response to this, and my aftercare experience. I have been diligently working to establish "The New Zealand Blood Clot Foundation." This charity will focus on education and awareness, providing crucial information and support to survivors. As part of my own recovery process, I have been walking, which has significantly aided the recovery of my lungs. This Saturday, I will be walking a full marathon (42 kilometres) to raise funds for the foundation.
